The mortgages and loans are made to sophisticated commercial real estate borrowers in the small- to mid-size segment of the market with little competition from conventional lenders such as banks, life insurance companies and pension funds. Preferred shares of CRFC trade on the TSX (RF.PR.A) and pay a tax-efficient cash distribution of 6.75% per annum. Class A shares of CRFC trade on the TSX (RF.A) and pay a tax-efficient cash distribution of 7.6% per annum.
